| 5FD - Excursion to the Palomino Islands Price per person $105 -- minimum of two people for the tour The duration of the tour is eight hours, and we leave at 8:45 AM The Palomino Islands: we invite you to enjoy these islands during a delightful visit that are four hours from downtown Lima. Once at the site, we will board a comfortable and secure cruising yacht equipped with sophisticated navigation, and experienced crew, bathrooms, and food and beverages. The cruise to the islands is an eco-tourist’s pleasure. Leaving from the port of Callao in an easterly direction, we arrive at the southern border of the island of San Lorenzo. We continue to navigate towards the island of the Fronton, at the extreme south. Then we arrive at the eastern entrance to the ecologic zone. There we can see many ocean birds which populate this island. Next pass 1/2 mile and arrived at the Cavinas Islands, these are typical islands with guano. And finally we navigate a further 2 miles until we reach Palomino Island. At this site, we will see the Seawolves and enjoy watching them play for a few minutes. We will stay approximately 40 minutes in the Palomino Islands to appreciate the intact ecosystem. The islands are a treasure in our characterized by the presence of Seawolves and marine birds. The Fort of Real Felipe The largest Fort built by the Spaniards in the colonies of South America was Real Felipe. It was constructed in 1747 in the port of Callao, the principal port of Peru. It was made to defend against attacks of the pirates against the galleons of the Spanish that were carrying Inca gold back to Spain. The Fort is also the site of the Museum of the army of Peru. Also the towers of the King and the Queen are at this site. The tower of the King consists of three levels. On the first level there are 20 for cannons made of iron, and on the second- level there a cannons made of bronze. The highest level is a lookout post. There is an enormous rocky hill with almost vertical walls; at its top we find the lighthouse of the island. One interesting detail is the dungeon in a semi-circular shape, that gives total obscurity to the prisioners. The tower of the Queen contains munitions deposits, and is equipped with its own fresh water supply. One of the interesting details is a semicircular form, which was made by feet. In the middle of the semicircle is a hall for the guards, which functioned as a curious of intelligence from this epoch. The tower of the King is a part of the defense of the Fort and is inside it.
