| 7HDP - Visit to Lighthouse of the Ocean (El Faro de la Marina) & Superb Lima Beaches Lima is home to many beaches and cliffs (300 ft high) of extraordinary beauty. Come with us to enjoy the maritime aspects of Lima that tourists usually miss. We will take you to experience the sound of the surf and the delightful smell of the fresh ocean breezes. Then you will walk along piers experiencing the deep resonating feel of the waves below you. Dip your feet in foamy ocean water and relax them after all of your walking in Peru! We will give you time to search the beach for free souvenirs from Peru like driftwood and the many unusual rocks you can find easily. Who knows what interesting item you might spot on the beach to take back home? Finally, we will drive along beach roads for about 30 minutes to visit the Lighthouse of the Sea known as la Marina. It was built in 1900 and moved to its current location in 1973 (El Faro de la Marina). It which can be seen doing its duty guarding ships from rocks on a high hill. El Faro de la Marina is a blue and white candy cane-striped lighthouse that faces the ocean. It is Peru's best known and most visited lighthouse (Faro). We will enjoy the magnificent vista from here, looking out over miles of ocean, spotting islands, and checking out the ships. You can also watch the expert surfers as they ply the waves, looking for the next big one! We will visit these beaches and more if time allows: Costa Verde, Redondo, Makaha, Pampilla, and Waikiki. For lunch we will choose a delightful restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It will be the perfect place to experience the seafood of Lima by the sea!
