(From Lonely Planet) 09-Jul-2010 10:51 Don't miss FREE CITY TOUR in LIMA & PORTOFINO Restaurant I was in Lima the last week, and i really enjoyed it!! And i want to share this with you. If you go to LIMA, just take de free city tour on Main Square, we walked around historical places and they told the instereting history of Lima, and the guide was so good she recommend some tips for our trip in cusco. I thought Lima was dangerous but it was safe at least the place we went to. I really recommend this. Also I went to LARCOMAR for lunch, and i found a good good place to eat, Portofino restaurant, which has an amazing view to the ocean and it's quiet, and the most important is not expensive! ... LIMA IS FASCINATING!! ... JUST ENJOY !!!!! (From Lonely Planet) Free walking tour around Lima downtown! I would recommend this tour as the best way of seeing the major sights of downtown Lima. Our guide was Iris, who was knowledgeable, friendly and communicated well in English. I also took a 1/2 day city tour run by a major operator in a bus, and enjoyed the Free Tour much more. The sights are best seen on foot, you get more time, you generally meet some interesting people on walking tours, and the guide was much better. The only advantage of the 1/2 day city tours run by larger operators is that you see the "uptown" sights as well. I really like the idea these tours are free - but they earn their money from tips………. contact @ http://limaperutranstour.com ..There are a lot of great sights to see!.
